I rated New Kid 5 stars because I loved the plot and the characters
My favorite character is drew because I felt like he always respected others and tried to always be nice to everyone
This is my favorite moment because Jordan finally got to see Alexandra’s true colors and the real reason she was ‘weird’ and it also led to Alex feeling less insecure about her hand.
I think that Andy is a bad influence, and I also dislike him. According to the text he has insulted multiple people verbally with no remorse. I feel bad for Jordan too since Riverdale Academy doesn’t have the type of diversity that Jordan is proud of. To follow up on my opinion on Jordan. I also feel bad for him because I can tell that he doesn’t enjoy having to sit/eat with that friend group, but this far into the year it is honestly too late to consider moving, so on top of feeling bad for him I feel like he is in a sticky situation in deciding his friend group and where he eats at lunch.
I think Jordan is the best character. I think he is really funny and nice. I also liked how the book introduced itself because they showed the book off by talking about how Jordan wants to go to art school, and how Jerry Craft made the very start about how Jordan doesn’t want to go back to school. I think How Jerry did that was very creative, and it was also very creative of Jerry on how he introduced Jordan and his personality
I loved the characters and the plot
because he was very kind and rarely got mad.
This was my favorite moment because it was very wholesome and pretty sad.
I think it was very honest of Carlos to tell Jerome’s grandma that it was him that gave Jerome the gun, and I also think that it was very kind of Jerome’s grandma to not lash out at Carlos and instead hug it out with Kim and Carlos. I think Jerome respects Emmett a little more since he wasn’t being as mean as he was when he first met Emmett, but either way they both were killed because of their skin color so he still should’ve gave Emmett the respect that Emmett gave him.
In my opinion I think that it is Carlos’ fault that Jerome died. I think this because he gave Jerome the toy gun. I also think that it is Jerome’s fault since he agreed to take the gun. I know that he only wanted to avoid the kids that bully him, but at the same time he should know what some cops would assume he had in his backpack. Another thing that I think is that Jerome is kind of a rude person. Most of the time he is yelling or saying mean things to Sarah, and I think he should treat Emmett with more respect considering they both were murdered because of racism, and all Emmett was to Jerome was nice.
In my opinion I think the police officer was wrong for shooting Jerome instead of asking him questions or interrogating him. According to the text, The police car pulled up next to Jerome, and instead of asking him what he had they instead immediately decided to shoot him, and the cops reasoning? The cop says “I had no other choice he had a “gun”!”. Also I think that Jerome’s grandma can secretly see him, but she keeps it a secret. According to the text, Jerome saw his grandma and whenever he was close to her she looked right at him like he was still alive.
Leonardo’s Horse by Jean Fritz tells how Leonardo Da Vinci’s horse in Italy was ruined and remade.
Charles Dent was similar to Leonardo Da Vinci. A statue in Italy called Leonardo’s Horse was ruined in a war. So Charles decided to remake it. As Charles remakes it, he begins to develop an obsession over it. Charles finishes, but not long after he passes away. People noticed something wrong, and they were right. Nina Akuma decided to remake it. After 4 years, fortunately she finished the sculpture, and everyone is happy again.
I gave it 5 stars because I loved how the book transitioned and I also loved the plot of the book.
MY favorite character was Wavie because relating to other characters in our book club books she is brave and a leader. She also didn’t act like a spoiled brat after her mom died.
This is my favorite part because I liked seeing them write back and forth it gave me a lot of confidence that they were going to take custody of her.
I honestly don’t know why Camille and her family live in a trailer park when her dad owns a big restaurant, and probably owns a lot of money. I am starting to think that Gilbert has a little crush on Wavie because everywhere she goes he goes. I didn’t actually expect Angel to communicate to Wavie, since he was isolated from human contact besides Samantha Rose’s trailer.I do not think that Wavie’s dad is dead, I think he is a criminal and Ronelda didn’t want Wavoe to know about him because she might grow up to hate him for doing all of those crimes.
